S2 ★ · How to Evaluate a Bioethics Manuscript
A deep dive into evaluating ethical reasoning and argument construction across paper types — conceptual and philosophical papers, empirical bioethics research, and policy or commentary pieces — using structured AJB reviewer templates. Participants who complete the capstone mock review qualify for Certified Reviewer status.
S3 · Research Integrity and Publication Ethics
Covers plagiarism and responsible citation, authorship ethics and the CRediT taxonomy, conflict of interest, duplicate publication, and COPE guidelines through real case studies — including authorship equity in North–South collaborations and community data rights in African research contexts.
S4 · Writing for Publication in African Bioethics
An editorial perspective on what makes a strong AJB submission, positioning African ethical frameworks as primary intellectual content, and guidance on writing empirical bioethics research from African fieldwork contexts and responding constructively to reviewer feedback.
S5 · AI Tools, Open Science and Modern Scholarly Publishing
Explores the landscape of AI tools in academic writing and peer review, transparency and disclosure obligations, open access and the FAIR principles, and African perspectives on open science and knowledge equity.
S6 · Research Visibility: ORCID, DOIs and Crossref
Introduces ORCID, DOIs, and the scholarly metadata ecosystem, with practical guidance on improving research visibility and citation tracking. Participants have the option to create or update an ORCID profile during the session with guided support.
